PENHA SCO is a production and artistic diffusion cooperative based in a former 450m2 textile factory with 6 workshops, a 100m2 gallery, a black-box for rehearsals and presentations and a common area composed of a kitchen and exhibition space, photographic laboratory, workshop and terrace; where exhibitions, performances, projections, concerts and courses take place which fill a quarterly agenda, in the thematic cycles of "open curatorship".
PRODUCTION
The main focus of the cooperative is to contribute, in a micropolitical way, to the sharing and creation in community, of thought and affection through an art that gives rise to vulnerability, non-linearity and the experience of difference. Keeping open to research and continuous research and interested in intensifying the ethical and aesthetic experience in a relational way through continuous workshops, creation spaces and seminars and different structures of training and development.
DIFFUSION
Aware that for the building of culture, everyone should have access, we have created space with a wide dissemination of the events held. Feeling that we want to offer to the communities that cross and create in the PENHA SCO, a space for sharing and development. Throughout 2019 and 2020, we offer a large number of people, free of charge or through conscious collaboration, access to more than 100 events - exhibitions, performances, projections, concerts, courses and seminars - that have programmed a quarterly agenda, with thematic cycles of "open curatorship".

Since the idealization and birth of this space, what is sought and practiced in the PENHA SCO is the possibility of affective encounters between people and, through art, either this in, out or expanded, To generate dialogues and friction of the issues that devastate our times and also, in a more intimate and quite human field, issues that devastate the people who structure this space, the friends and partners, the frequenters who pass by and stay here and the community where we are inserted. Although it is always the greatest challenge to align thinking, speaking and doing in ethical, political and affective-relational coherence, this is our proposal, from programming to personal relationships.
